Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice at Georgetown
November 12-14, 2011
 > Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice at Georgetown
Fourteen members of the Rockhurst University community joined 1,100 students from Jesuit universities, colleges, high schools and parishes from across the nation at the Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice, hosted at Georgetown University’s Conference Center. The Teach-In’s theme: The Gritty Reality: Feel It, Think It, Engage It, was derived from Fr. Peter Hans Kolvenbach SJ’s 2000 epic speech in which he challenged students at Jesuit institutions to respond to the world’s suffering. Speakers, breakout sessions, and prayer comprised the majority of the weekend, which culminated with students visiting their elected officials on Capitol Hill to advocate for justice.
